A young Oklahoma boy whose parents were alcoholics subjected him to horrific abuse before he was placed in the care of the foster care system just had a devastating list revealed by the organization. Love and the typical pleasures of youth were never a part of the boy’s life. The only things he had ever known were neglect and hunger.\n

A neighbor finally decided to notify social services after years of seeing the youngster’s house was a horrific environment for the boy to live.\n

Dreamcatchers for Abused Children, an organization that the police contacted after their intervention, found a new and loving home for the child.\n

When the organization finally located the right family and told the youngster the good news, he compiled a wish list of everything he could possibly desire for his future home.
\nIt goes without saying that the list won over a lot of people. The majority of the items on the list are necessities, thus many people felt the need to point out that children shouldn’t have aspirations for them.\n

All of them are here:\n

In my family, the things I want most are food and water.
\nStay away from me.
\nA home with water flowing through it and electricity.
\nLove is what I hunger for.
\nParents do not argue.
\nDo not give me medications.
\nI beg you, spare my dogs.
\nSome academic assistance.
\nImpeccably clean garments.
\nThere are no lice. No pests in the home.
\nDust and vacuum.
\nUse covers to clean the bed.
\nI don’t want my toys sold.
\nHandled fairly.
\nRefrain from imbibing.
\nTelevision in the home.
\nMy school supplies belong to me.
\nThose shoes are quite cool.
\nPersonal comb soap. Great home with a secure environment and a warm coat.
\nI need a toothbrush.\n

We must always be grateful for what we have, and this list serves as a constant reminder of that.\n
