They were conjoined at the head facing in opposite directions, and were the oldest pair of conjoined twins in the world at the time of their d_eaths.\n</p><p>Lori and George\u2019s skulls were connected, and they shared a blood supply and about 30 percent of their brain together.\n</p><p><img decoding='\"async\"' class='\"aligncenter' size-full wp-image-73854 src="%5C%22https:%5C/%5C/lorevista.com%5C/wp-content%5C/uploads%5C/2024%5C/04%5C/Screen-Shot-2024-04-15-at-07.54.25.png%5C%22" alt='\"\"' width='\"783\"' height='\"437\"' srcset='\"https:\/\/lorevista.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Screen-Shot-2024-04-15-at-07.54.25.png' https: sizes='\"(max-width:'>\n</p><p>This is the rarest form of conjoined twins and only makes up between two and six percent of cases.\n</p><p>The twins said that they would not like to be separated. Speaking in a documentary in 1997, George said: <strong>\u201cWould we be separated? Absolutely not. My theory is: why fix what is not broken?\u201d\n<p>Despite being joined at the head, the pair still lived lives independent of each other.\n</p><p>Lori and George would do their own hobbies in their own room, while the other said they would just \u2018zone out\u2019.\n</p><p>Lori explained: <strong>\u201cJust because we cannot get up and walk away from each other, doesn\u2019t mean we cannot have solitude from other people or ourselves.\u201d\n<p>The pair took this attitude with them into their romantic lives as well.\n</p><p>Speaking to The Sun in 2011, Lori said: <strong>\u201cWhen I went on dates, George would bring along books to read and, as we don\u2019t face each other, he could ignore any kissing.\u201d\n<p><img decoding='\"async\"' class='\"aligncenter' size-full wp-image-73853 src="%5C%22https:%5C/%5C/lorevista.com%5C/wp-content%5C/uploads%5C/2024%5C/04%5C/Screen-Shot-2024-04-15-at-07.55.28.png%5C%22" alt='\"\"' width='\"316\"' height='\"473\"' srcset='\"https:\/\/lorevista.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Screen-Shot-2024-04-15-at-07.55.28.png' https: sizes='\"(max-width:'>\n</p><p>After Lori lost her \u1d20\u026a\u0280\u0262\u026a\u0274\u026a\u1d1b\u028f to her second boyfriend at the age of 23, George said he was able to \u2018act like I\u2019m not even there\u2019 while she was with a partner.\n</p><p>Lori became engaged at one point, but tragically lost her fianc\u00e9 in a car \u1d00\u1d04\u1d04\u026a\u1d05\u1d07\u0274\u1d1b.\n</p><p><strong>\u201cGeorge looked after me. If it wasn\u2019t for him, I don\u2019t know if I could have lived through the heartbreak.\u201d, she said.\n<p>George and Lori lived to the age of 62, surpassing all expectations of medics when they were born.\n</p><p>Many medics, at the time, did not think that the twins would live to see their 30th birthday.\n</p><p>In 2007, George came out as a trans man.\n</p><p>He said: <strong>\u201cI have known from a very young age that I should have been a boy.\n<p><strong>\u201cI loved playing with trains and hated girly outfits. I kept my desire to change s_ex hidden \u2013 even from Lori \u2013 for many years.\u201d\n<p><strong>\u201cIt was so tough, but I was getting older and I simply didn\u2019t want to live a lie.
